Being California residents, we were a little disappointed to find out that our beaches didn’t make the top 10 list of best beach destinations for the year. The good news is we did make the top 20- Coronado Beach coming in at number 16, as well as Newport Beach right at number 19! Every year, Trip Advisor releases the Top 25 list of best beach destinations in the US, according to TripAdvisor users. We may be biased about our beaches, but we can’t argue that the top 10 look like the perfect vacation spot for a relaxing and beautiful getaway!

1. Clearwater Beach in Clearwater, Florida
It’s hard to beat the state that’s known for sunshine. Good ole’ Clearwater, Florida is ranked number one for the best beach destination in all the US. Not to mention, this isn’t the first time they’ve been No. 1! Clearwater Beach has been number one three times, and might we had, this is its second year in a row! Located right outside Tampa and St. Pete, the name of this beach says it all: CLEAR- WATER. You can see everything through the water and with the white, soft sand, it’s no wonder it’s the best beach destination!
2. Kaanapali Beach in Lahaina, Hawaii
Who doesn’t have visiting Hawaii on their bucket list? Kaanapali Beach in Lahaina, Hawaii has a breathtaking view and is known for making memories through surfing, cliff diving, and zip lining. Not to mention, the sunsets are like nothing you’ve ever seen before! Just imagine sitting on your beach blanket and soaking up the tropical sun… ah, pure bliss!
3. Panama City Beach in Panama City, Florida
Another Florida beach bringing only clear blue waters and white, soft sand; Panama City Beach is for good times with good friends!

5. Pensacola Beach in Pensacola, Florida
Duh, it’s another Florida beach! Pensacola Beach has it all with the white sand, calm and clear ocean waves, and sunny, yet breezy climate.
It’s the perfect place to take the family and layout on your heat-resistant blanket for an afternoon swim!
6. Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, Florida
Siesta Key is located off the coast of Sarasota, Florida and as you can see, the sunsets are unlike any other!
Siesta Beach has always been a favorite beach spot for tourists and locals. It was number one on the 2017’s list, as well as being number two on the 2018’s list! The sand is super white and said to be “fluffy.” A sand-proof blanket is going to have to be a must on this destination trip!
7. Hapuna Beach Recreation Area in Puako, Hawaii

This isn’t just your average beach. It’s also a recreation area in Hawaii’s Big Island! The beach view speaks for itself, but there’s also places to stay overnight and picnic all day long. This calls for a camp blanket!

8. St. Augustine Beach in Saint Augustine, Florida

Now, why would they name it Driftwood Beach? Hmm… If you’re looking for a different type of beaching experience, Driftwood Beach in Jekyll Island, GA is the spot to hit!
With trees and driftwood scattered along the shore, this is more for exploring than sun-tanning, and you’re guaranteed to get some really cool pictures. #instaworthy
